COURSE INFORMATION

This program is designed to help entry-level retail associates acquire and master knowledge, skills and abilities required for successfully handing jobs and growing careers in retail industry. This instructor-led program takes 40 hours to complete and the participants will be introduced to key concepts of retail businesses, customer services, store operations, retail selling and retail career pathway, key employability skills and job search strategies.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course will benefit store supervisors, department supervisors, store team leaders, store assistants, sales assistants, customer services assistants, cashiers  and individuals who seek careers in retail.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN...

  • Acquire the general knowledge and concepts of a retail business, its customers and its economic impact;
  • Recognize the importance of quality customer service; explain product features and benefits; connect with customers, identify and meet their needs; educate customers about product or service policies; handle service failures; and seek for customer feedback;
  • Develop basic knowledge and concepts of store operations, inventory control, merchandising, loss prevention and workplace safety;
  • Gain customer commitment and close sale; sell, cross-sell and upsell products or services; complete sales transactions; develop and implement sales follow-up plans; and
  • Learn common employability skills, craft polished CVs, prepare and shine in a job interview, establish and maintain a network of contacts and explore a retail career pathway.
